Biogeographic distribution

E. obtusa observations are limited, with 6 observations recorded with the Global Biodiversity Information Facility. These occurrences (Figure 1) were observed at Heron Island, French Polynesia, Japan and Vanuatu. Figure 2 displays the occurrences of all Elysiidae animals, with the largest abundance of animals in equatorial zones, which is likely due to limitations of the availability of algal prey species.
